New York Rangers (73 pts) @ Columbus Blue Jackets (75 pts):
Brendan: Blue Jackets win 3-2.
Tyler: The Rangers are on a roll as of late, but they are facing a tough task is Columbus. The Rangers are also one of the best road team, while Columbus is good at home. Rangers win 4-3.
Madalyn: When division foes match-up it is always a fun. The New York Rangers are coming off a victory over the Colorado Avalanche, which gave Henrik Lundqvist is 400th win. The Rangers aren’t the only ones with a great goaltender, the Columbus Blue Jackets’ Sergei Bobrovsky is second in the NHL with 30 wins on the season. Expect a low scoring affair. Rangers win 2-1.
Richard: The Rangers should make for a good test for the surprise Blue Jackets. With the Metro division’s tight race, this should be a great game, but I think Columbus takes it. Blue Jackets win 5-3.
Matt: Columbus is having a great season and currently sits ahead of the Rangers in the Metropolitan Division. The Rangers are on a five-game win streak, but I don’t think that lasts. It will snap tonight in Columbus, which has a great power play and strong goaltending. Blue Jackets win 3-1.
Arizona Coyotes (43 pts) @ Calgary Flames (59 pts):
Brendan: Flames win 4-1.
Tyler: The Coyotes are the worst team on the road and the second lowest scoring team in the league. Flames win 3-1.
Madalyn: The Calgary Flames are in the hunt for a wildcard spot, the Arizona Coyotes are not. The Coyotes are coming off one of their best performances of the season with an OT win over the Penguins, while the Flames are coming off their bye week. Though the Coyotes are out of the playoffs, the trade deadline is fast approaching and the team will likely be sellers. The Flames are trying to keep pace with the rest of the Western Conference, so a win is needed. Calgary is the better team, but Arizona has a never say die attitude. Coyotes win 3-2.
Richard: Arizona has been playing well as of late, but they just haven’t matched up well against Calgary lately. I don’t think that changes tonight and Calgary grabs the win in this pacific division matchup. Flames win 4-2.
Matt: Arizona has really stepped up their game recently, beating Pittsburgh in OT, getting to OT with Montreal, beating the Sharks, etc. The Coyotes have won five of their last eight, and even though Calgary has won four of its last five, I think Arizona’s got a little swagger right now. Coyotes win 4-3.
