There are just two games on the NHL slate for Friday night, but all four teams have shots at making the playoffs. The Minnesota Wild have the most points of the four teams in action, followed by the Chicago Blackhawks and a tie for third between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Winnipeg Jets.
Let’s take a look at what the experts have to say about each game:
Tampa Bay Lightning (54 pts) @ Minnesota Wild (76 pts)
Brendan: Wild win 4-2.
Tyler: Minnesota is coming off a tough loss against the Blackhawks, while Tampa Bay is coming off a blowout win of the Kings. Minnesota will rebound. Wild win 3-1.
Madalyn: The Minnesota Wild are headed to the playoffs as they hold the top spot in both the Central Division and the Western Conference, but for the Tampa Bay Lightning it is a different story. The team lost Steven Stamkos to a knee injury and find themselves in last place in the Atlantic Division. The Wild did not practice yesterday because of weather though they should be well prepared for this match-up, Tampa Bay has had solid goaltending of late and I expect Ben Bishop to perform well tonight. Lightning win 2-1.
Aaron: Wild win 3-2.
Chicago Blackhawks (71 pts) @ Winnipeg Jets (54 pts)
Brendan: Jets win 3-2.
Tyler: Chicago is on a roll and they will continue their roll against a slumping Winnipeg. Blackhawks win 4-2.
Madalyn: The Winnipeg Jets rookie, Patrik Laine was benched on Tuesday night after sluggish performances, so many are hoping he shows up in tonight’s game against the Blackhawks. After winning three games in a row the Jets have now lost two in a row. The Blackhawks are coming off an OT win over the Wild, and have momentum. Blackhawks win 3-2.
Aaron: Blackhawks win 3-1.
- Richard: 10-4 (.714)
- Matt: 23-12-1 (.639)

- Brendan: 30-19-9 (.517)
- Tyler: 20-14-5 (.513)
- Madalyn: 14-12-2 (.500)
